Looks ike it would be in the Alps, trouble is that the major roads
(autostrada go into the Alpine tunnels mostly in Switzerland. It could be
appenine say in the Bologna area, but the vegetation and the slopes look
more alpine, best swag is St Bernard pass

There are a lot of viaducts like that in Sicily - that would be my
tentative guess, though I can't be more precise.

I'd say Italy also.
Probably between Parma and La Spezia in the Lunigiana or Val di Taro area.

I like the way they cluster all the houses into a village, and not have
them sprawling all up and down the hillsides.

I think this correct. Going North from Montachino on the western side
highway, I think we saw this view.

DW I like the way they cluster all the houses into a village,
DW and not have them sprawling all up and down the hillsides.

Isn't that because in earlier less law abiding times it was much
safer to be close enough to call your neighbors for help?

I also think it's central or south Italy and can't be more precise.

In the lower right, the grey building and the white-roofed land-rover seem
those of Italian "Carabinieri", a sort of National Guard.
For vegetation (woods of oaks) and flat roofs of the houses cannot be in the
Alps. The romanic church and white houses are also those of central or south
Italy.

The highway bridge ("how to waste a beautifull valley") and the
abuse-buildings in the lower left are also made in Italy, indeed ;-)

ciao
