How do those sign and sail cards work in the casino? Does it initially
work on a Carnival ship or can it be initially used on a ship owned by
Carnival but not carrying the Carnival name i.e HAL

SUNNY How long has this beeen going on?

It's got to be used on a ship where the machines have card readers. As
far as I know, only the Spirit Class ships have these readers installed.

Credits can be redeemed on any HAL, Carnival, Seabourn, Princess, Costa,
etc. ship. Eileen and I have both received money on HAL ships for
credits accumulated on the Spirit and Legend.

Surprisingly, the Zuiderdam, which was built after the Spirit and
Legend, does not have the card readers. There were also none on the
Victory. I assume that the Pride and Miracle have them. Don't know
about the Conquest class, but I would hope that they have them. Can
anyone comment about the Oosterdam or any of the Conquest class ships.

Forget to mention that you need 2,500 credits to get $25 back in cash.
Also, if you are back to back on a Spirit Class ship, you can get $$
back on the second cruise for credits accumulated during the first.

Default Carnival Legend Friday last minute questions

There is a mini-bar in the cabin. It is prestocked, but you can ask
your cabin attendant to empty it if you want to put your own stuff in
it and not be charged for using their stuff.

As I recall, there is a shampoo and soap dispenser in the shower.

We loved this cruise (did it last May); just be prepared for the mess
at Port Authority. New York doesn't have their act together yet when
it comes to making the embarkation process civilized.

Hi again, hubby and I are going on our first cruise Friday out of NY on
the Carnival Legend. We have an extended balcony stateroom on the
Verandah deck, category 8G. Does anyone know what ammenities we will
have in the room, I know there are bathrobes, I have no idea what else to
expect. Also is there a mini bar or just an ice bucket?
Do we need to bring extra pool or beach towels?
Any other tips that will be helpful to firt time cruises will be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks!

I just returned from a trip on the Legend. It was great. Be sure to check
your charges at the end of the trip. I was double billed on a few items.
I'm sure it wasn't intentional but you have to keep an eye on these things.

I have some pictures at: http://jesse.no-ip.org/cruise/cruise.html

Jesse,
What site do you use to host those pics? I would like to post something
like that when we get back from our trip. What size are your pics?

Great pictures. But, OUCH!!! That was some sunburn (one of the earlier
pix...black sundress?).

From the buffet shots...what were the very bright yellow seahorse and
very bright green statue of liberty made of?

Well done. Don't be shy..post more

I use my own server through no-ip.com. For more information go to
http://www.no-ip.com/. I run the computer right from my house at no charge.
However, if you aren't up to that I would suggest using i1internet at
http://www.i1internet.net/. Setting up a domain and having your own site is
very inexpensive. I know a lot of people use webshots to upload their
pictures at http://www.webshots.com but I don't know if they charge for the
service as I don't use it.

I uploaded the images using Ulead Photo Explorer 8 software. It has a nice
package that takes your photos and creates a slide show. It also resizes
them for the web so I can't say what size they are since it was an automated
process.

Hope this helps.

That was my daughter. Yes, she got quite a sunburn the first day out.
Luckily she healed quickly. I used 50 sunblock & didn't have a problem.

I hate to say it but I don't remember. There were many ornate carvings &
molds. I was so busy taking pictures that I missed out on some of the
details. Sorry.

Glad you liked the shots. I took my video camera and made a DVD of the
entire trip when I got home. It came out pretty well but it isn't something
that I can post.
