In the Edmonton Journal front page [Thursday 23 November 2006] the police
chief is quoted as saying that this year's murder rate will be the third in a
row, increasing each year.

In other words, the imported now chief, is USELESS!!

From today's LONDON FREE PRESS.
"Edmonton's 33rd and 34th homicide victims met their ends early Sunday
morning."
" Their deaths came the week after Statistics Canada released a study
showing Edmonton had the highest murder rate among major Canadian
cities.
The Alberta capital, with 4.29 murders per 100,000 inhabitants in 2005,
surpassed Winnipeg's rate of 3.72.
And after this weekend, Edmonton is on pace to break last year's record
of 44 victims."
Boom killing Edmonton

The economic good times have a downside in the city's Canada-high
murder rates.

Judges in Edmonton regulalrly release killers, without any jail time at all!!

Last week 3 punks involved in the murder of a teenager, got no jail time, just
probabation!!

A former city engineer, stunting with his corvette who killed an innocent
pedestrian, also got no jail time because he was a supposedly good citizen.

Hell, a so-called judge, T.D.Clackson even ruled that a convicted murderer in
the Max Prison should be allowed to have a shiv, for his protection against
the guards!! {Kerr case]. The Supreme Court of Canada ruled basically that
Clackson was nuts, and overturned his ruling!!

Yawn. Do any of you dear American friends ever wonder what is going on
with this handful (if even that) of anti-Edmonton web-nuisances? Many
suspect some disgruntled Calgarian, the very rich, but not especially
interesting "cousin" to the south of Alberta's capital. But who knows
and in the end who cares about these grumbling anonymities? I presume
that you recognize fools when you see them and will give Edmonton due
consideration as a travel destination when in western Canada,
notwithstanding the risk that if you are a drug dealer or prostitute,
the cops there, horror or horrors, may give you a hard time.
