Travel Europe by rail
Greetings! I hope to travel to Scandinavian countries by rail. I would
like to hear from members of this group who traveled Europe by train. Can one go to Berlin from Copenhagen by fast trains? With thanks. |

With thanks. We always use trains in Europe, so far, at least. But what's your question? There are no direct trains from Berlin to Copenhagen so a high speed train only serves part of the route, depending on what you mean by "fast train". In general the high speed trains, the ICE, will only take you to Hamburg where you will have to change trains. In Sweden, the X2000 trains are fairly high speed. -- ************* DAVE HATUNEN ) ************* * Tucson Arizona, out where the cacti grow * * My typos & mispellings are intentional copyright traps * |

Take a look at www.seat61.com http://www.seat61.com/Europe.htm http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...emaninseats-21 http://bahn.hafas.de www.europeanrail.com. Also try to get a copy of the Thomas Cook European Timetable. I think Thomas Cook also publish some sort of guide book on European rail travel. Lonelyplanet publish one too You can go between Berlin and Copenhagen with one change in Hamburg, it takes around 7-8 hours. -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |

Sounds like you should consider the "scanrailticket" for the Nordic countries. http://www.scanrail.com/ From Berlin you can reach Copenhagen by train either with a change in Hamburg or by night train and a change in Malmö. From september 2007 you'll find direct trains Berlin-Copenhagen. |
