Given the potential street traffic problems I should think the direct Underground from London Bridge to Liverpool Street would be better. Care to name the direct unerground link between the two stations? Oops. I have no idea how I managed to misread this map in my hand to think that the Northern Line went to Liverpool Stret. Never mind.... In which case, Gatwick to Blackfriars and then Circle Line to Liverpool Street would be a direct underground connection. If you went via Mornington Crescent you could have a nice view out of the window - except on Tuesday afternoons. |

As would Gatwick to Victoria (despite someone posting that it needed a change). My own route would depend on how much luggage I had. Via Victoria and Tottenham Hale is perhaps the easiest for a tourist to manage (but there are the steps down into the booking hall at Victoria). -- Roland Perry |

Can normally be done (depending on how far one wishes to detour), although the northbound route from Gatwick is particularly difficult. Best to take a cab from London Bridge to Liverpool St, although there are big gaps in the Gatwick-London Bridge service in the morning rush hour, which is when many flights arrive :-( -- Roland Perry |

"Miss L. Toe" wrote in message ... Is there any air link between Gatwick (south of London) and Stansted (north of London) ? Transfers are usually done by bus (allow 3 hours) or train (allow 2 hours), see: Do it via Geneva, and you can pick up some duty free's, which might make it the cheapest way. Apparently so: it costs more to go from Gatwick to Stansted by bus than it does to fly from Stansted to Rotterdam. -- Don Phillipson Carlsbad Springs (Ottawa, Canada) |

If you are at Gatwick and want to go to Rotterdam, just fly BA or EZY to Amsterdam and take the train direct from the airport to Rotterdam. --==++AJC++==-- |

But the bus (GBP 23) doesn't require advance booking, may operate full, half-full, or with one passenger on board, and charges everyone the same fare regardless of whether they buy their ticket 2 months in advance or as they board the bus. Whereas the plane, at GBP21.38 (cheapest) does go up to at least GBP 57.56 including taxes. You're not comparing like with like. |
