Default Help! Lemon Cheesecake

In a café in Yallingup, a small town near Margaret River, WA, we had
some absolutely delicous lemon cheese cake. Unfortunately I forgot to
ask for a recipe. Tried to make one at home, but - nah - that wasn't the
real stuff. Looked for recipes in Google, but you'll find dozends of
different ways to make one. Some suggest to ad joghurt, some use eggs --
but what's (or where would I find) the recipe for the real[TM]
Australian lemon cheese cake?

Bego, do you remember the name of the cafe? Contacting them directly
would be the best approach. If you don't remember the name, there are
(partial?) listings at
http://www.totaltravel.com.au/travel...irectory/cafes
and http://www.walkabout.com.au/location...p.shtml--maybe
seeing the name will jog your memory. Good luck!

Hi Nancy!

Wow! With your second link I found the phone number of the café and I'll
try and call them to get the recipe.

However, I hoped for some Australian in the newsgroup who could tell me
his/her recipe.

Our German cheesecake is quite different to the Australian style,
probably similar to what we call the "Philadelphia-Tart". I tried the
recipe on www.philadelphia.de, but that wasn't by far as good as what we
had in several Australian cafés.

OK, I know -- usually tourists buy funny hats with corks, purses made
from kangaroo-testicles and "been there - done that" T-shirts. But I
still would prefer a "real Australian cheesecake"-recipe.
Hmmm - probably I should look for an Australian cooking newsgroup. :-)

Thanks anyway,

Bego

It may help if you look under Baked Cheesecake Recipes. Quite often Baked
Cheesecakes are flavoured with lemon.
