What countries have the best exchange rate for the dollar?
"really man" schreef in bericht ... You must be joking. Never heard of people, culture, nature, ... ? Never heard of reading comprehension? "One of my criteria..." does not mean "my sole criterion". Even in case it is the last criterium on his list, even then, it is banal, crude and vulgar to write such kind of statements. You're being utterly ridiculous. Economical travel is a perfectly valid criterion. Sure, but IF, but only IF he meant to tavel economical, then he should write "value for my money" But what he really meant was "in which country can I make use of my valuable dollars" or "in which country do people still like USD" Only US people don't see the difference between money and dollars |

What countries have the best exchange rate for the dollar?

While I share your distaste for the banal, I find the crude and vulgar a refreshing counterpoint to the refined and sophisticated. But I abhor the effete, the arrogant and the conceited. More to the point, as a man of modest means, I appreciate the original poster's desire to make his money go as far as possible. When you work for a living, the cost of what you desire is of significance, although many enjoy pretending it isn't. I fully agree with you But why did he wrote then "dollar" in the title, when he meant money ? Didn't he realised that "the best exchange rate for the dollar" is an emotionally charged statement in this context ? In a number of countries, people swinging with USD's are regarded as banal, lacking a min. level of culture. Never noticed that ? Do you select a destination country because of a .0005 % better USD exchange rate ? |

What countries have the best exchange rate for the dollar?
Yea...I love South & Central America. I've seen most of the continent
except Terra del Fuego. I'm headed down to Peru next month. I've got to get out though, and see some other parts of the world. I've never been to the Asian countries. I was trying to narrow down China (Beijing, Shanghai, HK), Mongolia, Vietnam, Bangkok, etc. I'll also eventually get to India and Turkey. I've seen some of Europe, and most of the Middle East but would like to get in more there. You can see from my original post why I ask the question about exchange rates and value for the dollar. It's not that I will never travel to these places...it's just that there's so many places to see....things to do........... "really man" wrote in message ... Yea....I love DIFFERNT cultures, food, people, religions, etc. I just cannot visit them all at one time. I'd prefer to go some place, like a previous post said......that I can stay a 2 weeks instead of 2 days. If you have any facility in Spanish, South America will be cheap. Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Chile, alll good bets. I'd stay out of Colombia without a guide (preferably someone visiting home); the other countries I've never been or have no reliable info. -C |

If you equate "commercial advertisements" with propaganda, perhaps, But I'm not here to make your arguments for you, just to carelessly puncture holes in them. Too precise a strike for me to counter. No propaganda in the US. I'm vanquished. Your inability to follow the thread seems almost Slovenian if not down-right Greek! The guy is trying to find a cheap place to hang where he can have a good time. Reread Kafka and come bank and genuflect at my shrine. Right, I know. You don't seem to know that I know. You also don't seem to know I'm not calling him the snob. I'm calling the snob who originally condescended to him, the snob. Yeah, but you didn't get the joke either, so I guess we both have blind spots.. -- ///--- |

If you see something wrong with *that*, you're hopeless. -C |

What countries have the best exchange rate for the dollar?
Didn't he realised that "the best exchange rate for the dollar" is an
emotionally charged statement in this context ? If it's emotional charged to anyone, that person is your ignorant individual, lacking a minimum of culture. He's American. A favorable exchange rate is a perfectly valid meansof extracting value. In a number of countries, people swinging with USD's are regarded as banal, lacking a min. level of culture. Never noticed that ? Nope. My money doesn't talk, I do. And anyone generalizing me out-of-hand by my country of origin or my form of currency is already beneath me. -C |

Wasn't it you that generalized about another relative to country of origin: "Your reading comprehension is almost British. Re-read the original reply." It seems you are beneath you. -- ///--- |
