We have used our AAA of Michigan auto insurance for travel insurance. Good
rates for members. Maybe you can check with your auto insurance company for
their travel insurance rates.

As I understand it, after paying good money for travel insurance, some, if
not most, insurance companies use a 'management service' and you never
actually deal directly with the company that you bought your insurance from.
Global Excel Management Inc. claimed the diagnosis of angina was an
indication of a "pre-existing (colon cancer) condition".
GEM wanted us out of the states and back to Canada (socialized medicine) as
fast as they could get us here so they wouldn't have to pay for surgery or
treatment and a long hospital stay. So fast that THEY ordered an air
ambulance and had our vehicle returned to Canada too. Now they want us to
pay for that as well.
