Beijing -- As well as the nation capital, Beijing is the political,
economic and cultural centre of China. The city dates back to the 13th
century, when Mogul emperor KublaiKhan established it as the capital
of his kingdom there and now as a fast-changing city under a
leadership determined to keep pace with a rapidly changing world.

Xi'an -- Once called Changan meaning lasting peace, Xian is acclaimed
as a museum of the 5000-year history of China and one of the world's
four major ancient capitals, ranking with Athens, Cairo, and Rome.

Guilin -- Famed for its scenery , which mesmerized all the tourists
both from home and abroad , Guilin is the inspiration for the
quintessential Chinese with its tall , moody limestone hills towering
above the meandering Lijiang River.

Shanghai-- A fishing-village-turned metropolis, Shanghai offers one of
the best examples where the east meets the west, the Chinese meets the
foreign, and the traditional meets the modern. The city equals many of
the world's metropolises in terms of the pace of life and the speed of
change. A Los Angeles Times report in Sept.2001 says that, attracted
by Shanghai's glitz, more than 300,000 Taiwanese, mostly
businesspeople, have settled down in the city in recent years.
