SAS web site very poor

When a company makes special offers available only on the web, and their web site is non-standards compliant, shouldn't one be able to obtain that special by telephone ? They don't _have_ to give you anything, of course. But, SAS has been going through some rough times the last year or two, and on several recent occasions I have found them to be highly responsive to a wee bit of polite pressure at the customer-service level. I do have Gold status with them and that may be a factor but, hey, it can't hurt you to ask. cheers, Henry |

Thanks for pointing this out. This is perhaps the most annoying airline website I have seen in quite some time. Just about every airline website allows to to enter your travel parameters right from the main page. This one makes you jump through multiple screens. Why even give the option for selecting between high-speed internet and dial-up? When you're trying to conduct commerce, web pages should always be low-bandwidth Low-bandwidth? Why not take advantage of high bandwidth if you have it? Would you rather all websites be in plain text and we access them by modem. After all, we used to book that way before the WWW. I don't understand what you mean about the travel parameters? From http://www.sas.se/, the first page I get redirected to has the normal option for entering flight info? I didn't get an option about high-speed or dial-up. What page are you going to? When I enter http://www.sas.se/, I get redirected (302 object moved) to: https://ibp2.scandinavian.net/planan...iew.asp?MKT=SE |

I specifically didn't buy a ticket with them in the past few weeks (despite itasoftware.com directing me there) because their web site was getting on my nerves so much. Had to buy other tickets since and didn't even bother trying their site. Like almost anyone else in this position, I didn't bother telling them, but just moved on. miguel -- Hundreds of travel photos from around the world: http://travel.u.nu/ |

This is one of the worst airline sites I have ever visited. It doesn't work at all with Opera 7.1 -FreeBSD which is admittedly not a ferociously popular combination, but almost many other airlines seem to be ale to work with it (e.g. AA, BA, AF, etc. etc.). Rather more surprising, it doesn't work well at all with MS IE 5 - W2000. I tried to send them a message to that effect, but I couldn't do that either... Bernard Higonnet I agree, it is not at all very smart designed and require very exact browser settings and versions, It was all dead using Netscape 4.79, but now I am using Netscape 7.1 and it works just fine. /Anders -- Remove the obvious part before replying by mail please! |
